We are once again heading into the craziness that is Woody’s. The girls all seem to love it and the coaches have pretty much remained intact.
WHAT
Woody's 7s are all female rugby events aimed to make sure that female players are given the centre stage.
This weekend is a girls only event for U12s, U14s, U16s and U18s.
Woody's 7s offer everything on one site. They chose the site due to it's rural location with plenty of space for teams to build mini campsites, plus the site has purpose built showers and toilets for these kind of events.
During the weekend they have rugby and inflatables during the day and DJs and bands during the evening. The site also boasts a large hall where you will find everyone enjoying food and drink from Woody's Bar as well as the music from the stage area.
WHERE
Woody hires a site in Weston on Trent, Derbyshire, it may not be a high class sports complex or a sports club home ground but it is in an area that allows for a feeling of being in a bubble. It has a large sized hall, proper toilets and showers, as well as lots of area for people to throw a ball around or just to chill with their team mates - just what you want for a touring team.
The Ukrainian Youth Association Centre is based in a small village on the outskirts of Derby and is just a few miles from the A50, which links both the M1 and M6 allowing for easy access.

WHEN
Friday 2nd May to Monday 5th May 2025
We will leave from Aylesbury RFC at 5:30pm on Friday 2nd May and will return at around 1pm on Monday 5th May.
WEEKEND OVERVIEW
Friday
The tents will be set up before the players arrive. After settling into the tents, the girls can head to Woody's Bar where you will find a DJ from 19:00, hot food and cold drinks.
Saturday
Matches will start at around 9am.
Whilst the games are taking place you will be able to enjoy crepes from Madam Crepes, burn off the crepes on the bouncy castles, bungee run and inflatable assault course, get your face painted by award winning artist Miss Kate Monroe before settling in to the bar at 19:00 for a band/DJ.
Sunday
Sunday is similar to Saturday apart from ending the event with trophies for the winners and a fancy dress competition.
DJ starts at 19:00 and the fancy dress competition will be judged at 19:30.

The cost is £150 per player which covers the entrance fee, a tour match shirt, the extortionate cost of coach travel, breakfast, dinner and snacks. The players will need some cash for lunch but it is reasonably priced.
There is also a hoodie available for a further £30 if desired.
Parents are welcome to come but it is not required.
You can pay it all at once or in installments. As long as I have the deposit by 15/12/2024 and the full amount paid by 28/02/2025.

Q&A
Food Available:
Food has been an issue in the evening but it is generally good throughout the day.
Last year they had yorkshire puddings filled with roast pork, stuffing and mash to rice dishes as well as pizzas, sausages rolls, pasties, burgers and snacks.
We will provide food in the morning for breakfast and make sure everyone is well fed in the evenings. We ask that you provide your child with money for lunches. The food is reasonably priced and £10 is more that enough to cover lunch each day.
Security:
They have security on site during the dark hours and everyone attending the event has to have a wristband on - anyone who does not will be asked to leave.
How much to bring:
The food, snacks and drinks throughout the day are included in the price.
Any drinks from the bar will be normal bar prices and not normal event prices. Face painting isn't too expensive and if they want to use the inflatables, it is £12 for the weekend.
They have confirmed that card machines will be available but they have stated that cash is easier.
Fancy Dress:
Our fancy dress this year will be super as we will be donning our superhero costumes.
Accommodation
We will provide tents for all of the players.
Parents can camp, bring a caravan or similar or use a local hotel.

It is each player's responsibility to look after their own possessions.
Apart from the structured Rugby tournament, we will allow the girls to spend their downtime as they wish as we want everyone to enjoy themselves in their own way. That being said, we will take along some equipment for things such as rounders, football etc.. if there is a demand for it.
